Position: CURIS is currently seeking a PLC and Wiring Technician with a minimum of 3 years of experience to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of low and high-voltage basics, the ability to operate controls using a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI), and a strong commitment to quality and safety. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving skills. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assemble and wire low-voltage control panels according to provided schematics and engineering specifications.
- Complete required documentation and reports accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to develop and improve panel designs and assembly processes.
- Test and troubleshoot control panels to ensure proper functionality and performance.
- Install and configure PLC and HMI systems to communicate and operate with decontamination equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.
- Continuously update knowledge and skills to stay current with industry advancements and standards.
- Up to 25% travel to customer sites may be required.
- Design, develop, and install electrical systems and components to required specifications.
- Create wiring diagrams and schematics, completing the wiring as specified, ensuring compliance with wiring standards and UL standards.
- Develop and test PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs and structures.
- Perform CAD (Computer-Aided Design) rendering and create detailed electrical schematics.
- Conduct basic soldering tasks as needed for various projects.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of Wiring and UL Standards: Must be familiar with national and international wiring standards, and able to ensure compliance with UL (Underwriters Laboratories) standards for electrical safety.
- Soldering Skills: Basic proficiency in soldering techniques for electrical components and systems.
- PLC Programming and Design: Strong understanding of PLC programming, including designing, creating, and troubleshooting PLC-based systems.
- CAD Proficiency: Ability to use CAD software to create detailed renderings and electrical schematics. Experience with specific CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN) is preferred.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze electrical systems and schematics for potential improvements or troubleshooting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documenting work and collaborating with team members.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality and safe electrical designs and installations.
