Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:

Kalos Services is looking for an Electrical Controls Technician who thrives on solving complex problems and bringing automation systems to life. This is not your average electrical role—we’re looking for someone with a strong background in automation, commissioning, programming, and data integration. If you’re the kind of tech who enjoys digging into the details of a controls system, making it work, and making it better, we want to talk to you.

You'll work on commercial and industrial projects across all Florida and Georgia, primarily in Building Automation Systems (BAS), energy management, and controls for HVAC/R and lighting systems. You'll be expected to commission, troubleshoot, program, and optimize automation systems from start to finish.

Schedule: Variable shifts, typically 7 am - 4 pm for days and 9 pm - 6 am for nights. Exact hours may vary based on project needs.

Compensation: $31/hour - $38/hour depending on prior years of experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Install and commission building automation and electrical control systems.
  • Troubleshooting and program controllers (BAS, PLCs, DDCs, etc.).
  • Integrate systems and sensors, test for reliability, and fine-tune operations.
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and programming logic.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and field teams to deliver high-performing systems.
  • Document programming logic, test results, and final commissioning reports.
  • Willingness to travel within Florida and occasionally out-of-state for special projects.
  • Working variable shifts to meet the specific scheduling needs of our clients.
  • Traveling to various locations within Central Florida and across the state as required.
  • Stay out of town when the location of the project requires

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical controls, automation, or commissioning roles.
  • Solid understanding of electrical theory, low-voltage electrical systems and controls wiring.
  • Must be able to understand and articulate the inner workings of AC.DC voltage.
  • Must be proficient in BACnet and Modbus, and have a rudimentary understanding of LAN-works.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one major BAS platform (Trane, Siemens, Honeywell, Johnson Controls, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus, and/or LonWorks.
  • Ability to program or configure control logic for HVAC or lighting systems.
  • Experience interpreting data trends, system logs, and optimization opportunities.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and self-directed work ethic.
  • Clean driving record and ability to pass background/drug checks.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly with or without an accommodation
  • Comfortable with climbing ladders and scaffolding
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
