Stark State College is looking for an experienced Electrical Controls Technician to become the technical expert behind the electrical, controls, and building automation systems that keep our campus safe, comfortable, efficient, and operational. This is a hands‑on troubleshooting role for someone who enjoys figuring out why a system isn't working, finding the root cause, and fixing it—not simply maintaining equipment according to a checklist.
You'll work with electrical distribution, Automated Logic Building Automation Systems (BAS), WebCTRL, HVAC controls, instrumentation, fire protection systems, low‑voltage systems, and a variety of mechanical and facility equipment. If you're currently an industrial maintenance technician, controls technician, BAS technician, commercial electrician, facilities technician, HVAC controls technician, or electro‑mechanical technician and enjoy working across multiple systems, we'd like to meet you.
Typical Hours/Days of Work: Mon‑Fri, 7:30am - 4:00pm
Location: The primary work location for this position will be the College’s main campus; however, the employee may be assigned to and work at various Stark State College campus locations based on departmental and operational needs.
Pay: $56,619 - $73,531/annually. This is a 250-day, non‑exempt contract position, with compensation commensurate with experience.
Experience with Automated Logic/WebCTRL, BAS, HVAC controls, fire alarm systems, instrumentation, or multiple trades is highly valuable. We're especially interested in technicians who have a strong electrical/controls foundation and can learn the Stark State systems.
$56,619–$73,531 annually, with compensation based on experience.
This is a 250-day position with a Monday–Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. schedule.
