Job summary

Stark State College in North Canton, Ohio, is hiring an Electrical Controls Technician to be the technical expert for electrical, controls, and BAS systems that keep campus operations safe and efficient.

The role focuses on hands-on troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and repairs across electrical distributions, BAS platforms, sensors, actuation, and related equipment. You’ll support campus maintenance and energy-efficiency initiatives while ensuring reliability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of full-time experience in advanced electrical maintenance or building automation.
• Electrical certification/licensing applicable to the role is required.
• Valid Ohio driver's license with clean driving record.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
• Ability to work independently and safely troubleshoot complex systems.

Responsibilities

• Program, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize Automated Logic BAS and WebCTRL.
• Diagnose complex electrical, controls, HVAC, and facility-system problems and identify root causes.
• Install and repair electrical distribution, control panels, lighting, wiring, and low-voltage systems.
• Troubleshoot fire alarm systems and related safety devices and sensors.
• Collaborate with HVAC controls to improve comfort, energy efficiency, and performance.
• Perform hands-on maintenance across electrical, mechanical, and building systems.
