Job description

Our client, a regional leader in civil construction, has an immediate need for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Mechanic, to join their team in Blue Ridge Summit.

We are seeking a self-starter who is technically curious with strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate will work within the Maintenance Department and collaborate closely with Operations to minimize plant downtime.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, install, and demolish the plant’s electrical equipment and machinery, including motors, panels, generating equipment, lighting circuits, and communication systems.
2. Maintain the facility in an electrically safe condition.
3. Respond promptly to process upsets.
4. Comply with regulations related to electrical installations, mining safety, occupational health, and company safety practices.
5. Perform miscellaneous assignments as directed.
6. Install new improvements throughout the plant.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

1. High school diploma with at least two years of experience in a continuous process environment; technical certificates or degrees are a plus.
2. Minimum of 5 years of electrical experience in an industrial manufacturing setting, with process monitoring experience preferred.
3. Experience with single and three-phase AC motor controls, MCCs, soft starters, and VFDs.
4. Knowledge of Allen-Bradley controllers, I/O modules, and programming software is desirable.
5. Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot power and electrical controls using voltages from 6V to 480V.
6. Basic understanding of electrical theory and the National Electrical Code.
7. Knowledge of methods and procedures for electrical and electronic equipment maintenance and repair.
