Job summary

Barchemy, LLC is seeking an Electrical Controls & Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, electronic, and automated control systems across the confectionery facility.

You will support production by maintaining PLC- and HMI-controlled processing and packaging equipment, executing the plant PM program, and coordinating with contractors on upgrades and relocations to ensure safety and GMP compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of industrial electrical/controls maintenance experience.
• Demonstrated hands-on troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment; ability to go online with a processor, interpret ladder logic, and isolate faults.
• Working knowledge of HMI operation and basic screen/tag troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of 480V 3-phase power distribution, motor controls, and control voltage circuits.
• Proficiency reading electrical schematics and OEM manuals.
• Experience with VFD setup, parameter changes, and fault diagnosis.
• Knowledge of LOTO and NFPA 70E safety practices.
• Basic CMMS use and Microsoft Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical and controls issues on production equipment including PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, servo drives, sensors, and safety circuits.
• Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, ladder logic, and OEM documentation.
• Monitor, modify, and back up PLC programs and document changes.
• Configure and troubleshoot HMI applications and industrial networks.
• Execute preventive maintenance per the plant PM program and document results.
• Coordinate with contractors on new equipment installation, upgrades, and relocations to NEC standards.
• Maintain instrumentation such as temperature probes, pressure transmitters, load cells, and flow meters.
• Support mechanical maintenance tasks as needed and assist with changeovers.
