Job summary

Kinder Morgan, a large energy infrastructure company operating across North America, seeks an experienced technician to install, inspect, and maintain electrical and control systems at pipelines and compressor stations. You will perform preventative maintenance, calibrations, troubleshooting, and safety-focused tasks across facilities.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of National Electric Codes.
• Reading and interpreting electrical and mechanical blueprints/diagrams.
• Knowledge of electronic test instruments/equipment.
• Valid driver’s license that meets insurability requirements.
• May require commercial driver’s license and company vehicle usage.
• Operator qualifications and potential certifications as required.
• Commitment to safe, accurate task completion.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, installing software, drivers).
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer focus and teamwork ability.
• Ability to organize, plan, and document work with minimal supervision.
• Develop and maintain effective internal/external relationships.
• Demonstrate operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Installs, inspects, maintains, operates, troubleshoots, and calibrates PLC and other control systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pumps, compressors, drivers and auxiliary equipment.
• Conduct I&M checks on control systems.
• Maintain switch gear and power distribution.
• Lead changes from analytical testing.
• Assist with grounding systems evaluation and development.
• Take assessment testing for progression.
• Install, analyze and repair security/intrusion systems.
• Ensure general upkeep of facilities and equipment.
• Oversee third-party construction/maintenance activities.
• Identify and report safety/environmental concerns.
• Document and record-keep appropriately.
• Comply with company standards, procedures, and tariffs.
• Mentor colleagues when possible; maintain attendance and safety.
• Respond to call-outs and overtime as needed.
