Job summary

Enbridge is seeking an Electrical Controls Technician I to build foundational skills while maintaining critical electrical and control systems at pipeline facilities. The role emphasizes safe, reliable operations, teamwork, and ongoing on-the-job training.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with preferred technical education and a willingness to relocate within the area. The position offers field-oriented duties, overtime and travel as needed, and a starting wage based on

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; may be enrolled in a one- or two-year technical program or apprenticeship.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills demonstrated through training, formal education, or experience.
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing to relay basic facts.
  • Willing to assist with more complex tasks and procedures.
  • Able to work independently while following safety policies.
  • Proficient in standard office software applications.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, inspect, and maintain electrical systems and equipment to support reliable operations.
  • Maintain DC systems (batteries, chargers, rectifiers, inverters) for continuous power supply.
  • Support the maintenance of PLCs, HMIs, and control networks with field devices.
  • Maintain and test safety systems (ESD panels, gas and flame detectors, emergency activation devices).
  • Monitor and support station operations, respond to abnormal conditions, and document findings.
  • Collaborate within a team and provide basic guidance to contractors or less experienced employees.
  • Follow all SOPs and O&M procedures, and contribute to work planning and budgeting.
  • Performs all duties as assigned.
