Job summary

Production Systems Automation in Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to lead the development of custom control systems and drive projects from concept to commissioning.

You will collaborate with principal engineers, electrical designers and project managers to ensure designs meet specifications, cost targets and schedules, while applying Rockwell PLC knowledge and industry codes.

Qualifications

• Degree required: Electrical or Industrial Engineering Technology.
• Minimum of 5 years in industrial controls and automation projects.
• Experience with PLC programming, Rockwell preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead custom control system development: specs, layouts, schematics, wiring, grounding.
• Prepare protection and control equipment specifications.
• Be the customer liaison for technical issues.
• Develop start-up, testing and commissioning plans.
• Coordinate with team to meet specs, cost and schedule.
• Interface with engineers, project managers and vendors.
• Assist with proposals: writing specs, estimating design hours and materials.
• Initiate design/process improvements.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Ensure designs comply with industry codes and specifications.
