Job summary

First Quality in McElhattan, PA is seeking a Senior Controls Engineer to design, implement, and upgrade complex controls on production equipment. You will mentor technicians and collaborate with engineering, maintenance and production to improve plant performance.

The role requires a strong background in PLCs (Rockwell/Siemens), DCS/HMI, AutoCAD, and safety systems, with 8+ years of industrial controls experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering field.
• Minimum 8 years' experience with Industrial Controls Systems.
• Advanced knowledge of PLC hardware/software (Rockwell and Siemens).
• Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Formal training in Functional Machine Safety and ISO 62443 awareness.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and upgrade complex production controls and software.
• Mentor Controls Engineers and Technicians; support plant performance improvements.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Maintenance and Production on new equipment and upgrades.
• Lead high-level troubleshooting and initiate continuous improvement projects.
• Develop machine data collection with MES and ensure safe operation.
