Overview

The Electrical Controls Engineer is responsible for designing electrical and control systems for client equipment. This includes creating electrical drawings and programming. The role involves onboarding new electrical engineers, overseeing trainees until they are self-sufficient, and communicating with internal and external contacts. Schedule

Monday to Friday

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain a safe work environment.
• Develop electrical drawings and control programming (Siemens required) from P&ID's.
• Integrate PLC logic with DCS/SCADA systems.
• Source new components and electrical instruments.
• Review customer system specifications and incorporate into designs.
• Select and evaluate electrical industrial instruments.
• Travel for troubleshooting, training, and start-up support, averaging 30-50% per month for the first year.
• Collaborate with field services for electrical and control support.
• Work within budget constraints.
• Create BOMs or procurement lists for electrical components and instruments.
• Coordinate with outsourcing teams for design and programming tasks.

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum 4-year controls/electrical degree required.
• Familiarity with PLC/HMI programming required.
• Knowledge of UL and NEC standards required.
• Preferred: Experience with water treatment equipment and components.
