Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a staff-level engineer to develop and apply expertise in industrial automation, controls, and power system applications. The role involves working with PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Modicon), HMI/SCADA (GE Cimplicity), and protective relays, across design, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning tasks.

Ideal candidates will have an ABET-accredited engineering degree, 0+ years (entry) to 9+ years (senior) of relevant experience, and familiarity with industrial networking and

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering from ABET accredited curriculum; Electrical Engineering degree preferred.
0+ years relevant engineering experience; EIT/FE strongly preferred.
Experience with PLC platforms, HMI/SCADA, and industrial protection relays helpful.

Responsibilities

Develop and apply technical expertise in industrial automation, controls, and power system applications.
Support design, testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of industrial control systems.
