Job summary

Georgia-Pacific is seeking an aspiring Electrical Controls Engineer to join our Capital Projects & Engineering, Machine Controls team in Green Bay, Wisconsin. This role is designed for students graduating in Spring 2027.

In this role, you will apply your technical knowledge to help develop and deliver large capital projects, obsolescence upgrades, and safety risk reduction initiatives across many of our largest manufacturing facilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field with anticipated Spring 2027 graduation.
Eligible for full-time employment in the United States without sponsorship.
Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and travel up to 50%.

Responsibilities

Assist with the design, implementation, and startup of capital and expense projects.
Develop, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC, HMI, and process control applications.
Integrate equipment and collect process data to improve reliability and productivity.
Utilize and improve standards for design and construction of control systems, electrical power distribution, instrumentation, and automation.
Validate machine control systems in support of safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Partner with operators, technicians, and engineers to develop sustainable solutions to recurring issues, increasing equipment uptime and design efficiency.
