Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering; PE license preferred.
• 10+ years of related industrial experience; water industry preferred.
• 5+ years’ experience in controls engineering; plant automation experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial networks.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize and document the overall control architecture, including hardware selection and remote I/O.
• Review project specs and incorporate requirements into design and procurement.
• Prepare design deliverables (diagrams, lists, schematics) per procedures, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with other engineers to ensure proper system representations in P&IDs and facility layouts.
• Implement electrical and controls designs for SWRO plant projects and support operations.
• Program, commission, and troubleshoot Allen‑Bradley PLC systems (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View SE).
• Oversee troubleshooting of electrical/controls issues on-site and remotely.
• Prepare design and cost estimates during bidding; work with customers and contractors.
