Job summary

Averro in Kent, WA is seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer to design power and control systems for industrial automation equipment. You will develop PLC and HMI programs, produce electrical diagrams and P&IDs, and support commissioning and field troubleshooting.

The role requires a BS in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience, with expertise in NEC, UL, CSA, NEMA, and IEC standards. This Full-Time position offers competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with minimum 5 years of experience in electrical and controls engineering
• Expert knowledge of electrical system design, including P&IDs, wiring diagrams, motor control, hazardous-area wiring, three-phase power systems, and relevant standards (NEC, UL, CSA, NEMA, IEC)
• Proficiency in PLC/HMI programming across common platforms, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office

Responsibilities

• Design electrical power and control systems for standard and custom equipment, selecting components and hardware within established architectures
• Develop and validate PLC and HMI programs using established control philosophies and logic libraries
• Produce comprehensive technical documentation including electrical diagrams, wiring layouts, P&IDs, and system descriptions
• Validate system performance through testing and support commissioning and field troubleshooting

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

We are seeking an Electrical & Controls Engineer for a manufacturer of industrial automation and control systems, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in electrical power systems design, PLC programming, and system controls looking to further their career in electrical and controls engineering. Hiring both a Mid Level engineer (5+ years) and Senior engineer (8+ years).

• Design electrical power and control systems for standard and custom equipment, selecting components and hardware within established architectures
• Develop and validate PLC and HMI programs using established control philosophies and logic libraries
