Electrical Controls Engineer Position

We are seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer for an on-site, direct-hire role in Columbus, Ohio. Candidates must have US Citizenship, a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or Electrical Engineering, and at least 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Prior manufacturing experience is a plus.

Key qualifications include knowledge of industrial electrical controls, PLC programming, and power distribution systems, along with an in-depth understanding of North American electrical codes such as UL, NFPA, NEC, and IEC. The role involves designing electrical circuits and panels for industrial equipment, performing electrical design calculations, and ensuring safety circuit ratings.

The compensation package includes full benefits, with a base salary around $80K plus a 25% employer contribution to the ESOP, totaling approximately $100,000. Interested candidates should provide a resume and be available for an initial phone call. Candidates must be able to work on-site in Columbus.

Responsibilities

• Design and understand industrial electrical controls, PLC programming, and power distribution systems.
• Comply with North American electrical codes and standards (UL, NFPA, NEC, IEC).
• Design electrical circuits and panels, perform safety-related calculations.
• Work with technologies such as PLCs, VFDs, proximity switches, safety devices, and HMIs.
• Experience with Industrial Ethernet Networks and PLC programming (e.g., Automation Direct PLCs, Ignition, LabVIEW, PanelView, C-More).
• Knowledge of SQL Databases, Power BI, AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical, Autodesk Fusion PLM, and familiarity with SAP is a plus.
• Understand mechanical and electrical design principles.
