Job description

Job Description

Provides direction for electrical controls engineering standards throughout the manufacturing process. Produces project documentation that includes prints, engineering files, supplier communications, and Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).

Maintains electrical control systems on production equipment. Designs, develops, and tests all aspects of electrical components, equipment, and machinery. Reads schematics and layouts, supports best design protocols and analysis. Contributes to the team with proven knowledge in fields such as analog and digital sensors, PLC controls, software design and development, and pneumatic controls.

Provides production support to maintain quality and output within budget. Troubleshoots and designs solutions to improve equipment reliability.

Collaborates with Operations, R&D, Quality, and outside suppliers during new product development, process methods, and assembly planning.

Manages projects from concept to completion, developing timelines and ensuring success by maintaining targets related to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering (BSEE), electrical engineering technologies (EET), or equivalent.

Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 5 years in developing, programming, and testing electrical control systems.

• PLC and Motion Control programming, testing, and debugging experience, primarily with Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLCs using EtherNet/IP, IO-Link, ModBus TCP, and discrete I/O. Preferred experience in HMI, PLC, and Vision System programming from start to finish.
• Advanced skills with electrical engineering design tools, including power distribution, testing, and data collection equipment.
• Strong knowledge in designing, building, evaluating, and testing industrial electronic and electrical circuits and components.
• Extensive experience in electrical design and layout, including power distribution, I/O devices, sensors, with preferred familiarity with Keyence Vision, Turck HMIs, IAI Linear Actuators, and Fanuc 6-axis robots.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex electrical control system programming and testing.
• Basic mechanical skills and understanding of mechanics.
• Proficient in technical writing, procedures, manuals, and schematic reading and drawing.
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with customers, vendors, engineers, machinists, assemblers, wiremen, technicians, and supervisors.
• Flexible and willing to work on diverse projects and tasks.
