Job summary

Designer Group seeks an Electrical Construction Manager to lead electrical packages on large-scale data centre projects. You will manage site teams, subcontractors, and interface with clients and consultants to ensure safety, schedule, and quality.

Reporting to the Project/Contracts Manager, you will review drawings, coordinate materials, run progress meetings, and mentor junior staff while upholding Designer Group safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing electrical installations on large-scale data centre or mission-critical projects.
• Strong understanding of LV/MV electrical systems, power distribution, UPS, generators, and related infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating testing, commissioning, and project handover activities.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, BIM models and Navisworks outputs.
• Strong planning, organisational and people management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate electrical installation activities across data centre projects.
• Lead site teams, subcontractors, and supervisors to ensure safe and efficient execution of works.
• Monitor project progress, productivity, and programme milestones, providing regular progress updates.
• Review designs, drawings, and specifications to ensure buildability and compliance with client requirements.
• Coordinate material procurement, deliveries, labour requirements, and site resources.
• Chair and attend project, subcontractor, and coordination meetings.
• Interface with clients, consultants, and other trades to ensure successful project delivery.
• Manage quality inspections, documentation, and project closeout activities.
• Oversee testing, commissioning, energisation, and handover of electrical systems.
• Ensure compliance with Designer Group Health & Safety procedures, conducting site audits, toolbox talks, and safety inductions.
• Mentor site personnel and support the development of apprentices and junior team members.

The Role
