Job summary

Mackinnon Bruce International partners with a leading global infrastructure developer to appoint an experienced Electrical Engineer to support large-scale data center projects across the United States.

This role involves driving electrical design, specification, and delivery from concept to construction, ensuring performance, quality, budget, and schedule targets are met.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (Bachelor’s or Master’s).
• 10+ years in electrical/building services design for data centers.
• Strong knowledge of data center infrastructure and BOD design.
• Experience leading RFQ/RFP processes with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Knowledge of electrical protection and grading studies.
• Proven track record managing contractors, consultants, and vendors.
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
• Hyperscale or colocation experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support development teams with RFPs, RFIs, and technical submissions
• Lead electrical design delivery from concept through to construction
• Review contractor designs to identify risks, gaps, and non-conformances
• Specify and evaluate electrical equipment aligned to client requirements
• Provide technical oversight throughout the design and delivery lifecycle
• Collaborate with vendors, consultants, and contractors
• Ensure compliance with performance standards and project specifications
• Contribute to optimisation, efficiency, and continuous improvement post-delivery
• Manage design coordination, approvals, and stakeholder engagement
• Support feasibility and due diligence for new developments
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to team development

The Opportunity

This is a key technical role, partnering closely with development and project teams to drive electrical design, specification, and delivery across multiple data center builds. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring projects meet performance, quality, budget, and timeline expectations.

• Experience with hyperscale or colocation environments is highly desirable
