Job summary

Orbital is seeking an Electrical Construction Coordinator (Electrical Transmission & Distribution) to join the Electric Services Construction Coordinator Program in Northeast Indiana. The role entails planning and coordinating construction activities to meet project goals within schedule and budget.

Projects are assigned regionally within East-West and North-South corridors. Essential duties include safety oversight, pre-construction reviews, RFI management, material coordination, daily logs,

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Similar is preferred.
• Experience in Commercial / Industrial T&D or Experience in Management preferred.
• May have a background in structural, mechanical, or electrical (preferred) construction / engineering but must be familiar with construction prints/drawings.
• OSHA 10 hour and MEA specific training is beneficial.
• Must exhibit strong written and verbal communication capabilities.
• Must be competent in basic computer programs (Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe).
• Must be organized, self-motivated, and detail oriented.
• Must be able to work well in a group setting and manage simultaneous tasks.
• Must be willing to travel as needed. Travel and lodging costs are reimbursable.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle to frequent construction sites.
• This position requires the ability to pass a post-offer drug (including marijuana) and alcohol test in compliance with Federal regulations and is also subject to random testing as a condition of continued employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide safety oversight and report issues to project manager and Orbital supervisor.
• Participate in pre-construction planning, reviews, and permits.
• Inspect sites during construction to ensure safety and compliance with specs.
• Manage RFIs and coordinate with client PM and engineering.
• Identify field material needs and coordinate orders and deliveries.
• Prepare Daily Log Reports tracking progress, safety incidents, and schedule.
• Maintain redline drawings, conduct weekly safety audits, and track scope changes.
• Occasionally climb ladders and lift up to 50 pounds.
