Job summary

HDR is seeking an Electrical Construction Inspector to observe electrical installations, review drawings, and support field staff on large-scale civil infrastructure projects in Washington state. The role requires strong NEC knowledge and SCADA familiarity.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma and an electrical apprenticeship or journeyman license, plus substantial journey-level experience with 120V-480V systems and high-voltage work.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a five-year electrical apprenticeship program and apprenticeship certificate, or a State journeyman license.
• Extensive journey-level electrical construction/maintenance experience in heavy industrial environments with 120V-480V systems and up to 21,000V.
• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related standards.
• Experience with SCADA systems and MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Conduct observations of electrical installations and acceptance testing for civil infrastructure projects.
• Maintain accurate daily records of work, labor, equipment and materials.
• Collaborate with project managers and field representatives.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications; identify conflicts.
• Provide guidance to less-experienced field staff; perform other duties as needed.
