Job summary

U.S. Electrical Testing in Tysons, VA is seeking a Commissioning Engineering Leader to build and lead a team focused on enhancing performance, safety, and reliability of electrical systems across facilities.

You will apply power systems studies, power quality analysis, and rigorous engineering to ensure system health and regulatory compliance while guiding cross‑functional collaboration. The role requires a bachelor’s in electrical engineering, 7+ years of leadership experience, and a PE license

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 7+ years of electrical engineering leadership.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Top-Secret clearance.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed arc flash hazard analysis per IEEE 1584 and NFPA 70E.
• Perform short-circuit, protective device coordination, and load flow studies.
• Develop electrical system models using SKM, ETAP, PowerTools, or EasyPower.
• Collect and interpret site-specific electrical data, including one-line diagrams and equipment ratings.
• Develop and update electrical one-line diagrams for client facilities.
• Prepare and review arc flash reports with incident energy calculations and PPE levels.
• Provide technical guidance on electrical safety compliance and risk mitigation.
• Collaborate with field technicians, safety personnel, and project managers for data collection and execution.
• Develop and deliver training materials on electrical safety and arc flash awareness.
