Job summary

The State of Maine is seeking an experienced inspector to evaluate electrical installations for NEC compliance in Augusta, ME. You will inspect, test, and document findings, and coordinate with fire departments and engineers to enforce safety standards.

Required is a Maine Master Electrician license and strong knowledge of electrical theory and code. The role involves courtroom testimony and advising on corrective actions and waivers where appropriate.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the National Electrical Code and related safety standards.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret technical documents.
• Familiarity with licensing procedures and investigative practices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical inspections to ensure NEC compliance and bring facilities into compliance.
• Investigate complaints and determine violations of electrical code.
• Test electrical circuits and review electrical blueprints for required corrections.
• Present findings to boards and testify in proceedings when needed.
• Advise on safety precautions and occupational hazards of electrical work.
