Job summary

The Coteau Properties Company is offering a 15-month Co-op (Trainee) program at a surface lignite coal mine. This role focuses on assisting with inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment in both shop and field settings.

Training emphasizes MSHA compliance and hands-on experience with various voltage systems. Enrolled students in an accredited electrical program with a valid driver’s license are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Strong work ethic and effective communication.
• Ability to work in a team or independently with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of AC/DC circuits, electrical controls, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical equipment in shop and field.
• Work with different voltage electrical systems.
• Handle trail cable and electrical boxes.
• Assist with MSHA electrical inspections on mine equipment.
• Operate support equipment.
• Follow MSHA, company safety procedures and environmental regulations.
