Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, is a leading national provider of technical and construction services for critical electric infrastructure. The CAD Technician role is based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and involves drafting for medium/high voltage substation or transmission line drawings under supervision.

You will create and revise CADD drawings, learn corporate drafting standards, and grow skills across Electrical, Transmission, or Civil/Structural disciplines.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in drafting and design or comparable field is required; two years of equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu.
• Experience with AutoCAD 2010 or newer is required.
• Experience utilizing MicroStation, Inventor, Revit, or 3D CADD is preferred.
• Basic drafting including drawing scales, layouts (Paperspace/Modelspace), and accurately reproducing engineering markups.
• Experience using CADD, word processing, spreadsheet, and email software.
• Ability to work in a team environment; communicate effectively, both written and verbal; accept direction when provided with constructive feedback.

Responsibilities

• Create and revise CADD drawings per engineering markups.
• Perform engineering support tasks under direct supervision.
• Learn and apply the corporate/client standard of drafting and engineering practices.
• Learn and properly use document management systems.
• Take personal responsibility for the quality of work.
• Bring project-related problems and solutions to the attention of the responsible party.
• Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned.
