Job summary

Dashiell, an operating unit of Quanta Services, is seeking an Electrical Designer to produce drafting and design work for substation projects from our Raleigh, NC office. You will work under close supervision, preparing drawings, performing basic calculations, and supporting senior designers in execution of projects.

This role offers growth within a team of engineers, with responsibilities including lighting studies, cable lengths, and adherence to NEC, NFPA, IEEE standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or technical certificate in drafting, engineering technology, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years of drafting and designing experience in electrical systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; discipline-specific design software is a plus.
• Knowledge of electrical design concepts and relevant codes is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare electrical drawings and CAD documents under supervision of senior designers.
• Develop design packages with plans, details, and specifications.
• Perform basic quantity take-offs and material lists from drawings.
• Assist with substation design tasks and ensure design package accuracy.
