Job summary

COMPA Industries seeks an Electrical CAD Designer to join the team at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory in Berkeley, CA, to develop electrical designs, schematics, and documentation for the ALS-U upgrade. This hands-on role supports engineering, manufacturing, assembly, and installation activities on a major scientific instrument.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in electrical CAD design, experience with Inventor/AutoCAD Electrical/KiCad, and proficiency in creating manufacturing-ready

Qualifications

• Five years of professional experience producing electrical CAD designs.
• Experience with Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD Electrical, KiCad.
• Proficiency in creating electrical schematics and BOMs.
• Experience using PLM/PDM systems for documentation.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain electrical models, wiring diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts using CAD software.
• Review and revise designs based on feedback, design reviews, and changes.
• Generate bills of materials, wire and cable lists for manufacturing and assembly.
• Produce design packages for fabrication, assembly, testing, and installation.
• Collaborate with engineers to ensure designs meet requirements and integrate with assemblies.
• Participate in design reviews and maintain revision-controlled documentation.
