Job summary

Hill International, Inc. in Berkeley, CA seeks an experienced Electrical CAD Designer to develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, and BOMs for manufacturing-ready products.

You will translate engineering concepts into precise models and collaborate with engineers and managers to ensure seamless integration with assemblies. The role emphasizes hands-on CAD work, attention to detail, and adherence to standards, with a full‑time on‑site requirement in Berkeley.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in electrical CAD design (AutoCAD Electrical or KiCad).
• BOMs and wire/cable schedules production experience.
• Understanding of PLM/PDM systems for version control and design management.
• Familiarity with IPC, IEC, UL, NEC and other relevant standards.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain electrical models, wiring diagrams, schematics, and panel layouts using CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical, AutoCAD Inventor, KiCad).
• Collaborate with mechanical/electrical engineers and project managers to meet requirements and integrate with product assemblies.
• Generate BOMs, wire/cable lists, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly teams.
• Ensure designs comply with standards and internal quality requirements.
• Review and revise designs based on feedback and change orders.
• Maintain organized design files and revision control in Windchill.
