Job summary

Southwire Company LLC is seeking an Electrical BIM Modeler to create and maintain 3D BIM models using Revit, AutoCAD, NAVIS Works, and Blue Beam, collaborating with engineers and contractors to ensure models meet project requirements.

You will size and route raceway and wiring for electrical power, lighting, and auxiliary systems, applying BIM/VDC concepts and standards, and producing installation drawings from design to construct.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in Electrical Modeling/Design.
• BIM Technology Certification and Autodesk Certified Professional preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain 3D BIM models using BIM software.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and planning teams to ensure accuracy.
• Size, evaluate, and specify raceway and wire routing for electrical systems.
• Produce installation drawings and coordinate with project documents.

Job Summary

The main responsibilities of the Electrical BIM Modeler include creating and maintaining 3D models using BIM software,collaborating with contractors, engineers, and other members of the construction planning services team, ensuring themodels are accurate and meet project requirements, and using the models to identify and resolve conflicts or issuesduring the design phase. This individual will produce jobsite electrical installation drawings based on innovative andefficient practices. He or she will be responsible for applying BIM/VDC knowledge, concepts, and experience to size,evaluate, select, and specify raceway and wire routing for electrical power, lighting, and auxiliary systems in accordancewith relevant codes and standards. Utilizing existing custom Southwire technology tools as well as industryBIM/VDC tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Proficiency with Autodesk collaboration tools including Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) and others
• High level of knowledge and experience in BIM tools specifically Revit, AutoCAD, NAVIS Works, Blue Beam
• Proficient with reading, understanding, and analyzing MEP construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.
• Able to produce wire routing layout as well as wire BOMâs to provide efficient building wire installation.
• Knowledge of construction codes and standards including NFPA 70 National Electrical Code
• Self-directed with ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines with minimal supervision
• Must be able to adjust to changing schedules and deadlines as needed to meet contractor job requirements.
• Prepare and revises documentation in various phases of design and construction, including plans, diagrams, and details
• Utilizes technologies in development of three-dimensional models of electrical systems.
• Provides guidance and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents and contractor preferences.
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Complies with all policies and standards

Required Education & Experience

Minimum Education Level: Bachelor's Degree

Licenses/Certificates: BIM Technology Certification, Autodesk Certified Professional
