Job summary

Helix Electric Inc. is seeking an Electrical BIM Detailer to lead BIM design for power systems and electrical infrastructure. The role involves interpreting diagrams, performing VDC modeling, and creating shop drawings for field use, with regular site visits possible.

You will work with VDC Coordinators and other disciplines to ensure installation methods meet project standards and schedules, while maintaining strong communication with Operations teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or field experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Autodesk production software (Revit, Navisworks, APL, BIM 360).
• 1-2 years of Electrical/Power Systems experience or internships preferred.
• Excellent oral, prioritization and written communication skills.
• Problem solving, acceptance of responsibility, and work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Interpret single line diagrams and electrical drawings.
• Regular field site visits with possible project-site assignment.
• Coordinate with VDC Coordinators/Manager to understand installation means/methods.
• Provide top service to Operations with clear communication.
• VDC modeling of electrical systems (lighting, gear, pathways).
• Create shop drawings for the field.
• Work under a VDC Coordinator or Manager.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Adhere to VDC workflow criteria and content standards.
• Leverage VDC tools to coordinate between disciplines.
