Job summary

Actalent is seeking a BIM Coordinator in the Downers Grove, IL area to lead the creation and coordination of 2D and 3D electrical models and drawings for complex commercial and data center projects. You will use Autodesk Revit and Navisworks to develop accurate electrical models, support field installations, and coordinate with project teams to resolve clashes and ensure constructability.

You will travel to project sites in the Chicagoland area, coordinating with engineers, PMs, and field teams,

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of professional, post-graduate experience in a BIM Coordinator role within the electrical construction space.
• Proficient in Autodesk Revit for electrical modeling and coordination.
• Proficient in Autodesk Navisworks for 3D coordination and clash detection.
• Knowledge of 3D coordination workflows in construction.
• Direct experience with electrical construction including conduits, cables and systems.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical drawings.
• Ability to produce 2D/3D electrical drawings and shop drawings for fabrication/installation.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specs and coordination requirements.
• Ability to participate in coordination meetings and collaborate with trades.
• Clear communication with engineers, PMs and field teams to explain drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed 2D/3D electrical drawings and models for field installations and coordination.
• Read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical plans to model systems.
• Create precise 3D representations of electrical components for coordination and clash detection.
• Participate in coordination meetings to resolve clashes while maintaining NEC code requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and PMs to resolve design/constructability issues and explain drawings.
• Produce shop drawings and cross-sections for fabrication/installation.
• Update models/drawings based on field feedback and design changes.
• Use Revit and Navisworks for model-based coordination and visualization.
• Support pre-construction and CAD teams with accurate models and documentation.
• Travel to Chicagoland project sites as required.
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures.
