Job summary

Ranken Technical College in Wentzville seeks an experienced Electrical Automation Technology Instructor to deliver theory and lab instruction in electrical automation. The role requires an AS degree in electrical or related field and 5+ years of practical experience.

Qualifications

• AS degree in Electrical or related field.
• Five years or more of practical work experience in power distribution, AC and DC motors, controls, and VFDs.
• Experience with PLCs/HMI: Allen Bradley SLC/Controllogix.
• Experience with HMI software: WonderWare, RsView 32, FactoryTalk.
• Understanding NEC and commercial wiring patterns and power distribution.
• Programming experience with HMI software and troubleshooting PLC/HMI devices.
• Community college teaching experience preferred but we will train.
• Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
• Computer literate in MS Office.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for and teaches Electrical Automation Technology courses and labs.
• Plans daily activities for theory and lab.
• Supervises students for theory and technical project grades.
• Instructs and evaluates students in electrical technology courses, including shop safety.
• Maintains a safe worksite and enforces safety standards.
• Assists in maintenance of lab and classroom equipment.
• Assists management with curriculum, scheduling, budgeting, hiring, and other duties.
• Participates in college governance, committees, advising, etc.
• Participates in available training to stay current in electrical technology.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
