Job summary

Boston Conveyor & Automation (BCA) is seeking an Electrical Engineer in Massachusetts to design and deliver complex machine control systems from concept to commissioning. You will contribute to innovative automation solutions across food manufacturing and life sciences sectors.

Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, you will create electrical schematics, wiring layouts, BOMs, and documentation while collaborating with sales, applications engineers, and customers.

Qualifications

3+ years of electrical engineering experience with schematics and wiring layouts.
Proficiency in EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical and knowledge of CE/IEC/NEC/NFPA/UL/TUV standards.
Strong machine safety understanding and capability to design for logic and motion control.
Experience designing systems end-to-end and collaborating with sales, applications, and customers.
Willingness to travel 10–15% and work both independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

Design electrical schematics, control panels, and wiring layouts.
Create wire schedules and interconnection cable lists.
Develop bills of materials and select components.
Support panel suppliers and in-house technicians.
Collaborate with sales, applications engineers, and customers to design solutions.
Prepare costings, technical proposals, and functional specs.
Design pneumatic systems alongside electrical systems.
Partner with mechanical engineering on device placement and system integration.
Produce equipment manuals and training documentation.
