Job summary

Boston Conveyor & Automation (BCA), part of the Mpac Group, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design custom automation solutions in Newburyport, MA. You will own designs from concept through manufacture, delivering robotic work cells and conveyor/machinery for food, life sciences, and general manufacturing sectors.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years of relevant engineering experience, strong CAD skills (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), and a solid understanding of machinery safety standards.

Qualifications

• Designing and developing custom machinery using SolidWorks.
• Reviewing customer drawings and specifications to understand project requirements.
• Knowledge of machinery safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing customer drawings and specifications to understand project requirements and determine design feasibility.
• Designing and developing custom machinery using SolidWorks.
• Carrying out engineering calculations including stress and load analysis, chain pull and speed requirements.
• Ensuring designs meet safety and regulatory requirements.
• Refining designs after reviews and coordination with suppliers.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including purchasing, quality, production, and fabrication.
