Job summary

Key Technology is seeking an Electrical Assembly Technician to join our team in Washington. You will assemble panels, cables, computers and other electronic sub-assemblies using engineering drawings, wire lists and/or electrical schematics.

You will self-inspect to meet our wiring standards and collaborate with Engineering to resolve issues. Responsibilities progress from Level 1 through Level 3, increasing scope to full product assemblies, subsystem testing and troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and basic computer skills; college/trade/military courses helpful.
• Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Ability to read and follow electrical schematics to wire machines and assemble panels.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical and electronic sub-assemblies using drawings, wire lists and schematics.
• Self-inspect work to ensure Key Technology quality standards are met.
• Assist in creating wire lists from schematics for prototypes and first production runs.
• Follow verbal and written instructions from the Production Supervisor and communicate issues clearly.
• Read blueprints and electrical schematics; discuss layout and assembly with Engineering to resolve issues.
• Use hand and power tools to assemble, wire and test components.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Level 2/3 duties include larger assemblies, subsystems testing and troubleshooting.

POSITION SUMMARY:Assembles panels, cables, computers and other electronic sub-assemblies using engineering drawings, wire list and/or electrical schematics. Self-inspects work to ensure that items are built in compliance with Key Technology wiring standards.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Level 1:At all times safety is a top priority while performing any part of your job.Builds electrical and electronic sub-assemblies using engineering drawings, wire lists, electrical schematics, work instructions and a variety of hand tools such as wire strippers, screw drivers, wire crimpers, wrenches, etc.Self-inspects work to ensure Key Technology quality standards are met.Assists in the creation of wire lists from schematics for experimental, prototype and/or first production run electrical equipment.Follow verbal and written instruction given by Production Supervisor.Clearly communicate any issues to Production Supervisor or Lead.Able to read and understand blueprints, work instructions and/or electrical schematics.Discusses layout and assembly procedures and/or problems with Engineering to resolve functional issuesExperienced using various hand and power tools such as wrenches, screw drivers, wire crimpers, wire strippers, etc.Able to read and follow electrical schematics and written proceduresOther duties as assignedLevel 2:In addition to the above duties.Successfully assembles most products that are typically built in the assigned area.Reads and follows mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.Able to use the computer system to look up drawings as needed.Able to handle and assembly electrical/electronic items.Works on assemblies with minimal documentation.Level 3:In addition to the above duties.Successfully assembles all products that are typically built in the assigned area.Performs subsystem testing and troubleshooting for products built in the assigned area.Able to provide direction and technical support for products built in the assigned area.Demonstrates a high level of problem-solving skills.Maintains and configures test fixtures and tooling used in the assigned area.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
