Job summary

Dover Food Retail (DFR) is seeking an Assembler III - Electrical for the 1st shift at our Colonial Heights, VA plant. You will read and interpret schematics, assemble electrical controls, and mount enclosures and devices while adhering to safety and quality standards.

The role requires experience with low-voltage systems and the ability to train others, with a focus on continuous improvement and collaboration with engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Must have experience with low-voltage electrical systems such as fire alarms, access control or life-safety systems.
• HS Diploma or GED required.
• Ability to understand and interpret basic electric circuitry.
• Knowledge and capability of using basic electrical test equipment.
• Ability to read instructions and wiring diagrams of internal equipment and components.
• Familiarity with hand and power tools used in electrical applications.
• Previous electrical work experience preferred.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read work orders, drawings, wiring diagrams to determine materials needed.
• Plan work sequence based on documents.
• Create documentation for controller assembly.
• Assemble electrical controls for all areas.
• Drive continuous improvement efforts.
• Collaborate with engineering resources.
• Mount electrical enclosures on cases and mount devices.
• Run wiring, cables and conduit per UL471, NEMA, NEC.
• Terminate wires to components; label wiring.
• Bundle wires following workmanship criteria.
• Collaborate on new or special products with engineering.
• Train others as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety rules.
