Job summary

Winn-Marion Companies in Arnegard, ND is seeking an Electrician Apprentice to assist journeymen and master electricians while training for licensure. You will assemble, install, test and inspect electrical equipment, identify safety risks, and follow safety procedures on industrial sites.

The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift up to 60 lbs, and familiarity with hand and power tools. A high school diploma or GED is required, and prior electrical exposure is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some electrical industry experience preferred.
• Identify basic safety hazards and how to avoid them.
• Experience with heat trace is a plus.
• Experience with hand tools and power tools.
• Basic electrical theory knowledge (Ohm's law) a plus.
• Ability to perform strenuous physical labor.
• Ability to drive a company vehicle.
• Follow instructions and work with supervision.
• Knowledge of cables: types, gauges and color coding.
• Experience in industrial facilities or power plants preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with journeyman and master electricians under supervision.
• Assemble and install electrical equipment.
• Terminate wires and cables to equipment.
• Test components for continuity and voltage per specs.
• Inspect equipment for hazards and operability.
• Set up and maintain temporary power systems.
• Maintain grounding systems for equipment and structures.
• Assist with lockout/tagout procedures.
• Be available for emergencies as needed.
