Job description

Our client located in Northern Maine has an immediate opening for a Electrical & Instrumentation Supervisor.

Responsibilities

  1. Ensure that maintenance activities meet or exceed established mill standards;
  2. Ensure effective utilization of the maintenance workforce;
  3. Ensure continuous improvement towards current best practices based on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs);
  4. Ensure effective utilization of the maintenance management systems and recommend changes or improvements to the Maintenance & Engineering Manager;
  5. Assign resources as required to root cause analysis of issues and their elimination;
  6. Prepare and meet department budget, explain variances with appropriate action taken as required;
  7. Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities in the department;
  8. Identify maintenance crew training requirements by auditing the quality and efficiency of the tradesmen;
  9. Ensure direct reports demonstrate effectiveness in their roles and are provided with development opportunities;
  10. Ensure full compliance with the collective agreement and foster sound union-management and employee relations;
  11. Comply with Health & Safety and environment standards.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
  2. 2-5 years’ experience in a similar role or progressive experience into management role;
  3. Experience working in a unionized environment;
  4. Knowledge of Maximo and SAP;
  5. Must be familiar with computer and various programs such as Excel, Word;
  6. Ability to work as a member of a team with minimal supervision;
  7. Strong time management, organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills are required;
  8. Experience with planning systems;
  9. Strong organization skills;
  10. Leadership and communication skills;
  11. Flexible and ability to adapt to changing priorities;
  12. Past Pulp & Paper Supervisory and/or Management experience would be considered an asset.
