Job summary

FirstEnergy seeks a Planner Scheduler/Readiness Coordinator for PA Work Management, based in Somerset, PA. The role focuses on short-range planning and scheduling operational processes, ensuring safety, resource optimization, and efficient work execution for overhead/underground line facilities.

You will develop a two-week operation plan, coordinate with supervision, and manage work queues, materials, and permits using FEWS, CREWS, and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology or related discipline; 0–1 years related work experience (or 2+ years without degree).
• Knowledge of planning/scheduling best practices, processes, and tools.
• Experience with PC software including Microsoft Office; also SAP, GIS, CREWS, FEWS, PowerOn, CAD/AutoCAD, and energy delivery outage apps.

Responsibilities

• Plan and schedule short-range operations center activities and provide a daily work plan.
• Develop a two-week plan and one-month projection of activities.
• Use FEWS to schedule and dispatch work to crews.
• Coordinate with internal/external customers on construction and maintenance activities.
• Ensure UG locates are completed (OPUS, PA ONE CALL, MISO).
• Provide technical reports and metrics to ensure compliance with FE procedures.
• Review actual work hours vs forecasted and justify variances.
