Job summary

Gregory Electric Company, Inc. is seeking a Utility Lighting Installer to support overhead and underground lighting distribution work in Hickory, NC. You will plan tasks from prints, operate a bucket truck, and perform excavation and installation while following safety protocols.

The role requires reading blueprints, OSHA knowledge, and a background in electrical construction, with CDL A and related hands-on experience valued. Local travel and stability are offered as part of the position.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, work orders, instructions, and procedures.
• Advanced knowledge of OSHA standards for energized/de-energized conditions.
• Proficiency in basic math and measurements for field tasks.

Responsibilities

• Work safely while constructing, maintaining or repairing energized and de-energized distribution and lighting systems.
• Conduct pre-job planning based on prints and work orders.
• Work knowledge of overhead and underground line work, construction standards and installation.
• Identify primary and secondary voltage on a circuit and underground pulling equipment.
• Understand slopes, shoring, excavation, minimum approach distance and ladder requirements.
• Operate bucket truck safely and effectively.
• Excavate dirt, rock, concrete and other materials with hand tools and power equipment.
• Support safety initiatives using PPE and line protection devices.
