Job summary

Sitka, City and Borough of (AK) is seeking a Warehouse Inventory Clerk to maintain the inventory required for electric utility operations and to track department costs for construction, labor, materials, and equipment.

Under the T&D System Manager, you will handle purchasing, receiving, storage, records, and on-call duties, ensuring accurate records and timely procurement during emergencies.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED; and
• Some general experience in procurement, warehousing, or accounting; or
• Experience working at an electric utility in a warehouse, procurement, or accounting position, Sitka preferred; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, supervises, and coordinates the ordering, transporting, receiving, organizing, storing, and distribution of a large and varied inventory of equipment, supplies, or parts
• Plans and manages the maintenance of inventory and control records, such as computerized databases and periodic physical inventories
• Initiates purchase order requests to maintain inventory levels for regular operations
• Sources, locates, and initiates purchase order requests in emergencies
• Tracks, receives, and inspects incoming equipment, supplies, or parts for quality and quantity
• Establishes and maintains good working relationships with vendors and suppliers
• Performs other duties as assigned
