Job summary

General Galactic Technologies Corporation seeks an Electric Propulsion Test Engineer to join a focused technical team. You will test propulsion hardware for our spacecraft products and own vacuum system design and procurement for propulsion testing.

This hands-on role requires experience with electric propulsion fundamentals, vacuum systems, and PLC operation. You will contribute to rapid iteration through test campaigns and rigorous documentation.

Qualifications

• BS in mechanical or aerospace engineering or related field.
• 1+ year hands-on testing of electric propulsion or similar hardware.
• Experience with vacuum systems maintenance and operation (cryopumps, vacuum chambers, roughing pumps).
• Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
• Experience in design and test of pressurized components and systems.

Responsibilities

• Test electric propulsion hardware including thruster and cathode components.
• Design and procure vacuum systems for propulsion testing (vacuum chambers, cryopumps, pumps).
• Analyze test results and diagnose issues as they arise.
• Build and repair development thruster and cathode hardware for rapid test cycles.
• Create qualification and acceptance test plans and qualify designs through vibration, shock, TVAC, and other testing.
• Create rigorous documentation to inform iterative design.
