Carter Machinery Co. Inc. is recruiting for an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Apprentice Technician in Elkridge, MD. The 15-month program trains you to diagnose, inspect, maintain and repair engines and electrical systems on generators and transfer switches.

Starting compensation ranges from $22.00 to $28.00 per hour with full benefits. The apprenticeship leads to Virginia Dept. of Labor accreditation and a pathway to a career in power generation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of K-12 vocational program in Electrical or Mechanical related course is preferred.
• Post-secondary diesel engine program or two years of mechanical job experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support training and development to troubleshoot and diagnose engines and electrical systems on generators and transfer switches.
• Complete service reports and provide details for work orders with accuracy.
• Maintain and repair engines, electrical systems, and related components on generators.
• Adhere to safety procedures and document daily activities.
