Carter Machinery invites applicants to join the Electric Power Generation (EPG) Rental Apprentice Technician program in Elkridge, MD. This 15-month apprenticeship provides hands-on training to troubleshoot, diagnose, inspect, maintain and repair engines and electrical systems on generators and transfer switches.

Upon completion, you earn Virginia Department of Labor accreditation as a Construction Equipment Technician.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of K-12 vocational program in Electrical or Mechanical related course.
• Post-secondary diesel engine or related program or two years of mechanical job experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose engines and electrical systems on generators.
• Inspect, maintain and repair engines and related electrical systems.
• Complete service reports and document work orders accurately.
• Operate heavy equipment and meet deadlines.
• Provide excellent customer service and promote Carter Way values.
