Job summary

City of Rocky Mount Energy Services seeks a skilled Meter Technician to install, test, and calibrate electric meters and assist with transformer‑rated equipment. You will maintain records and inventory while following safety rules and regulations including NESC, OSHA, and APPA.

The role requires knowledge of electrical work, good communication, and the ability to work in varied conditions as part of a team. A valid NC driver's license is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of electric meters, including installation, repair, maintenance, calibration, and testing.
• Knowledge of relevant federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
• Knowledge of job-related safety practices and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Installs, removes, and reads single-phase and poly-phase self-contained electric meters.
• Tests, reconditions, and calibrates single-phase and poly-phase self-contained electric meters.
• Assists with the installation of transformer-rated electric meters and related equipment.
• Assists with the testing of transformer-rated electric meters and related equipment.
• Maintains accurate records and reports on all electric meters and related equipment.
• Keeps meter inventory neat, organized, and accessible.
