Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking an Electric Machine Design Engineering Intern in Kokomo, Indiana. You will support the design, analysis, and optimization of electric machines for automotive applications and work with the Electric Machine Design team on new projects.

The role requires ongoing enrollment in a mechanical engineering program, with GPA targets and preferred experience in Maxwell, MotorCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, and Python. This internship offers exposure to cutting-edge mobility technologies.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• GPA 3.0 on 4.0 scale or B average on initial hire date.
• MSME degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide electric machine design and analysis of IPM machines.
• Work with Electric Machine Design team on new products and concepts.
• Develop and utilize multi-physics design optimization tools.
• Perform Maxwell 2D/3D (Magnetic FEA) and MotorCAD analyses.
• Support active projects and new business opportunities.
• Explore AI opportunities for electric machine design and analysis.
