Job summary

Entergy Texas, Inc.-GTX is seeking Apprentices 1st and 2nd Step to learn and assist in the construction and maintenance of electric transmission and distribution systems.

Under supervision, apprentices will perform basic tasks on energized conductors up to 600 volts, assist qualified linemen, and gain experience across multiple steps in a structured program. Safety and training are emphasized throughout the apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Under Class 1 supervision, perform less difficult lineman tasks.
• Follow SAP safety rules per Rev 03.
• Maintain a valid Class A CDL.
• Learn company safety rules and basic first aid.

Responsibilities

• Assist in installation and maintenance of electric transmission/distribution lines.
• Use pole climbing equipment and perform basic climbing tasks safely.
• Assist in trimming trees and in structure inspections.
• Read job drawings/maps and assist with Job Hazard Assessment.
