Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking apprentices/journey line workers in Hobbs, NM to build and maintain high‑voltage distribution lines. You will participate in construction, maintenance, and storm restoration activities within a reputable apprentice program.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, CDL Class A or ability to obtain within 120 days, successful EEI CAST assessment, and willingness to travel or respond to on‑call events. Location is Hobbs, NM, within 20 miles of the service center.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• CDL Class A or ability to acquire within 120 days of start date.
• Must have passed the EEI CAST Assessment.
• Must be safety‑minded and able to work with others.
• Able to respond to after-hours and weekend callouts.
• Within 20 miles of Hobbs, NM Service Center.
• Journeyman option: clearance on Journeyman/line program or 5 years lineman experience.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain and operate high-voltage distribution lines.
• Support maintenance and emergency repairs of distribution lines.
• Participate in storm restoration and related field work.
