Job summary

Xcel Energy in Hobbs, NM seeks Apprentice or Journey Line Worker to construct, maintain and operate high voltage distribution lines. Training through a Labor Department certified apprentice program is offered, with potential travel and after-hours on-call work.

Requirements include CDL A or ability to obtain, a high school diploma or GED, passing EEI CAST, strong safety focus, and willingness to attend apprentice schools. Reside within 20 miles of the Hobbs Service Center.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL Class A or ability to acquire within 120 days of start date.
• Must pass EEI CAST Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Construct, maintain and operate distribution lines.
• Support maintenance and emergency repairs of distribution lines.
• Participate in training and apprenticeship schools.
