Job summary

Kapur & Associates, Inc. is seeking a talented Designer to provide electric and gas design services for residential, commercial, and industrial customers within the We Energies territory.

You will create detailed service designs and small distribution plans using MicroStation and collaborate with contractors and internal team members. This is a union designer position; as part of the role you will enroll in the IBEW 2150 and participate in ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Civil/Mechanical/Electrical education preferred.
• Driver license and reliable vehicle required.
• Willing to complete site visits and travel to office in inclement weather.
• Experience in gas and/or electric design services is a plus.
• Proficient with MicroStation and strong design principles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage up to 20 projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Utilize MicroStation to create detailed gas and electric designs for residential, commercial, and industrial customers.
• Collaborate with builders to understand project requirements and communicate design specs.
• Document and communicate project updates weekly to internal teams.
• Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external partners for seamless project execution.
• Create site plans, determine meter locations, and evaluate routes per regulatory standards.
